Shipping and freight for bulk salt orders

Salt is freight-sensitive. India Salt separates the published ex-refinery goods price from transport so buyers can compare a supplier-arranged freight quote with their own transporter on the same route and load basis.

Choose the freight route after the product is clear

The buyer can request freight at actual cost after ordering or arrange a transporter. A useful freight request identifies the dispatch location, destination PIN code, quantity, packing, vehicle type, loading and unloading method, site timing restrictions and whether weighment or transit documents have a special format.

The lowest quoted truck rate is not always the lowest delivered cost. Detention, part-load handling, moisture protection, unloading labour, route restrictions, tolls and weight variation can change the landed result.

  • Confirm source and destination
  • Use the same net quantity and vehicle basis
  • Record who loads and unloads
  • Confirm weather and moisture protection
  • Define weighment and shortage handling
  • Confirm dispatch and delivery communication

What is and is not included in the website price

The displayed catalogue rate includes generic packing where applicable and loading. Freight is extra. Custom packaging, printing, pallets, special tests, inspections and other non-standard requirements are confirmed separately at actual or quoted cost.

Dispatch timing is not a universal promise on the page. It is confirmed after product availability, full payment, the final dispatch point and transport are settled for the order.

Create an auditable delivered-cost comparison

Compare the goods value, packaging, loading, freight, testing, detention assumptions, unloading and expected delivered quantity in separate lines. Keep the supplier quote, transporter quote, weighment slips and receipt record linked to the same order reference.
