Loose salt removes individual packaging and is the lowest-priced industrial format in the current catalogue. It needs suitable vehicle unloading, protected bulk storage, contamination control and a way to meter or move the material. Savings disappear if rain, spillage or manual rehandling creates loss.
50 kg bags
Fifty-kilogram bags reduce the number of units handled per tonne and are common for industrial throughput. Check manual-handling rules, labour availability, bag strength, stacking height and whether the receiving team can move the bags safely.
25 kg bags
Twenty-five-kilogram bags increase bag count but may simplify manual handling, controlled dosing, split storage or delivery to smaller points. Compare the full labour and waste impact against the packing premium.

Calculate units, storage footprint and packaging waste
One metric tonne equals 20 nominal 50 kg bags or 40 nominal 25 kg bags. A 25 MT requirement therefore represents 500 or 1,000 bags respectively. That difference affects unloading touches, pallet or floor positions, bag-count reconciliation, seam exposure and waste handling. Use the nominal calculation for planning, then apply the contractual weight and tolerance rule at receipt.
Map the material journey from vehicle to consumption point. Count each lift, transfer, open-bag step and exposure to rain or floor contamination. Loose supply can remove bags but adds bulk-equipment and housekeeping requirements. The best format is the one with the lowest safe total handling cost for the actual site.
