Different physical formats solve different handling problems
Water-softener tablets or pellets are compressed into controlled shapes. Loose or bagged industrial salt is supplied as crystals. Even where both contain sodium chloride, bulk density, fines, dissolution and bridging behaviour can differ.
Follow the equipment or process specification
Check the manufacturer’s approved salt form, purity, particle-size range and insoluble limits. Do not substitute crystalline salt into a machine designed for tablets merely to reduce the per-tonne purchase price.
What India Salt currently supplies
The current catalogue lists loose industrial salt and industrial salt in 25 kg or 50 kg bags. It does not list compressed softener tablets or pellets. Applicable industrial brine users should provide their crystalline-salt specification before ordering.
Equipment-compatibility and total-cost checklist
Ask the equipment provider for the approved product form, purity, insoluble limit, crystal or tablet dimensions, fines tolerance, bulk density and loading method. Check whether using an unapproved form affects warranty, bridging, brine concentration, residue removal or service frequency. A salt seller should not override the equipment specification.
Compare more than ₹/kg. Include dissolution performance, manual handling, storage, cleaning, rejected product, equipment downtime and packaging waste. Crystalline industrial salt can be a valid input for some industrial brine systems, but that fact does not make it a universal lower-cost replacement for compressed tablets.

Buyer questions
Frequently asked questions
Does India Salt sell tablets?
No. The listed industrial products are loose or bagged crystalline salt.
Are tablets purer than loose salt?
Physical form alone does not prove chemistry. Compare the actual specification, test evidence and equipment requirement.
Can I use loose salt for brine?
It can be relevant to some industrial brine systems, subject to equipment design and an accepted chemistry/particle specification.
